Rod Stewart has helped rescue 16
Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war from the Polish border.
Posting the update on his Instagram, Sir Rod informed his followers that along with the help of a charity and his nephews, they and six other volunteers were able to get the displaced
Ukrainian families to safety.

The 77-year-old singer reportedly sponsored four trucks filled with supplies to be sent to those in need and tasked his nephews Warren and Gavin with the mission of distributing them across France, Belgium, Germany, and finally Poland, before picking up the 16 Ukrainian refugees and escorting them to safety in Berlin.
The logistics of the rescue mission were coordinated by
GeeWizz, a charity that works to help children and young adults, who are learning disabled, neurodivergent, or have a life-limiting illness.
Since the
Russian invasion began, the organisation began a
Ukraine aid appeal and has been dedicating a large portion of their efforts to helping provide humanitarian relief to the families struggling to secure their own safety, let alone provide the adequate care their children need.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Stewart praised his brave relatives for stepping up: “It took them three-and-a-half days to get there and back. They are the heroes, not me.”
Nephew Warren, 37, from Bracknell in Berkshire, works as an estates manager in his day job but felt compelled to do something after seeing the situation on the TV.
“I was watching the news and was brought to tears. The next morning I went into Uncle Rod’s office and said I wanted to go to Ukraine." As well as giving him the time off work, Sir Rod is thought to have covered all the costs: the van hires, fuel, supplies - the lot.
