Mum hands out 200 goodie bags to passengers on flight as preemptive apology for baby crying

"Please use it when it's too noisy because of me"

A mother took the decision to hand out more than 200 goodie bags to passengers on a long-haul flight from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco, California. She was concerned that taking her 4-month-old baby on board for the first time would cause other passengers some annoyance. Dave Corona, a cameraman for KGO, who was on the same 10-hour flight revealed his goodie bag on a Facebook post. He described it as a “very touching gesture” and said he didn’t even hear “a peep out of the kid”. The goodie bag was filled with sweets, earplugs and a note offering a preemptive apology for any crying. The note read: “Hello, I’m Junwoo and I’m four months old. “Today, I am going to the US. “I’m a little bit nervous and scared because it’s my first flight in my life, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. “I will try to go quietly, though I can’t make any promises. Please excuse me. “My mum prepared a little goodie bag for you! It has some candies and earplugs. Please use it when it’s too noisy because of me. “Enjoy your trip, thank you.” Most commenters on the post described it was a “great idea” and “sweet”, but others feel there should be more accepting of parents travelling with young children. “That was a nice gesture,” wrote one commenter, “but I think people need to be more understanding on flights and not make parents and their children feel so unwelcome on flights. We were all babies at one point in life.” It was not the first time a parents has apologised in advance for their baby crying on a flight. In 2014, on a flight bound for Miami, some parents travelling with their one-year-old daughter made goodie bags for the fellow passengers.
