"This is the world they are leaving for us."

Greta Thunberg has responded to the awful fire that broke out on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, calling out world leaders for their lack of action against climate change. The climate activist quote tweeted a video of the shocking scenes, saying: "Meanwhile the people in power call themselves "climate leaders" as they open up new oilfields, pipelines and coal power plants - granting new oil licenses exploring future oil drilling sites. "This is the world they are leaving for us." The fire took over five hours to extinguish, and was caused by an underwater pipeline rupturing. Pemex, the state oil company, have said that no injuries were caused and they would further investigate the cause of the fire. https://twitter.com/GretaThunberg/status/1411213090281119746 If you can watch that video, and still not think that yes, actually, maybe we should stop destroying the planet to the point of no return and invest in some green solutions to the damage we've caused, then I really don't know what else to say to you. Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also spoke out with a similar tone to Thunberg, saying: "Shout out to all the legislators going out on dinner dates with Exxon lobbyists so they can say a Green New Deal is too expensive." https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1411088090832252933 She's got a point. Expensive compared to what? This?
