You do have to download the Bitmoji app to get the emoji party started. But once you do, you're good to use it in pictures, video and chat on Snapchat and you can even use the personalised emojis of friends who have done likewise.
It's a massive investment from the company, so you can be sure they'll be looking to make it as interesting as possible.
