U2 brightened up many people’s Monday mornings with the news that they will be coming to Croke Park on July 22 as part of the Joshua Tree Tour 2017, celebrating the 30^th anniversary of arguably the most celebrated album in the band’s history. If news of Bono and company playing a summer night’s gig in GAA HQ wasn’t enough on its own, it was also confirmed that they will be supported by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, an extra treat for those who’ll be lucky enough to get their hands on tickets. When Liam and Noel were together back in their Oasis days, the band actually supported U2 on their Popmart tour in the mid-90s, an episode recounted in further detail on the U2 website.
