Ja Rule is planning ‘Fyre Festival II’ despite first one being utter disaster

Two in-depth documentaries uncovered the utter fiasco that was Fyre Festival, but that won't deter Ja Rule

Fyre Festival was the disastrously overambitious music festival created by entrepreneur Billy McFarland, now in jail, and musician Ja Rule, who has claimed he's coming back with plans for a new festival. What form this may take, as either a brand new concept or a re-launch associated with the Fyre Media app that Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, helped create remains unknown. "I've got my new platform, it is kind of similar to what the [Fyre] app was but you've got to understand the app was separate from the festival," he told TMZ. "It is the most iconic festival that never was. I have plans to create the iconic festival... but you didn't hear it from me!" The Always On Time rapper was at the forefront of the Bahamas-based showcase, advertised by supermodels as the biggest luxury event of the year. Its spectacular collapse was recently documented by both Netflix and Hulu in films that Ja Rule admits he hasn't watched. "I haven't watched them yet," he said. "Maybe [I will]. They're very popular. Maybe one day. I lived it. "It's not funny to me, it's heartbreaking to me. It was something that I really wanted to be special and amazing and it just didn't turn out that way. "In the midst of chaos there's opportunity and so I'm working on a lot of new things."
