Swingers confirm secret signal to attract other couples that can lead to very awkward conversations

‘You have to be careful how you ask’

A married couple who are swingers has revealed the signal they give to other couples to let them know they’re also invited to the bedroom.

Lincolnshire couple, Live and Gage, have been married for 11 years, but enjoy spending their free time having sex with other people.

Liv, a 30-year-old flight attendant, and Gage, a 31-year-old account manager, have dished the dirt on the lifestyle, revealing how they let other couples know they’re happy to swap.

And it turns out it is a sign so innocent, it could easily be missed by those, not in the know, or cause a lot of embarrassment for those who go with it and find themselves unintentionally in a “playtime” session.

The secret signal is an upside-down pineapple.

Liv told The Sun the motif has “become big in recent years”, and she even wears a gold necklace with a pineapple charm on to “discreetly” show she’s a swinger.

“That’s usually code that they are into the lifestyle, although you have to be careful how you ask,” Liv said.

“But on a recent holiday in Cancun, Mexico, there was a woman in a full-on pineapple dress with pineapple shorts and a pineapple shirt, so they were obviously into it.”

Sometimes, however, the subtle fruit sign can simply be upside-down fruit.

Gage notes if you see an upside-down pineapple in someone’s shopping basket, for instance, it could be more accidental than a call to get wild.

But, there’s checks you can make.

Gage explains: “You can ask them, ‘Are you in the lifestyle?’ But if they look confused then you say, ‘Ignore me!’ and run. “Another sign is a black wedding ring on your right hand.”

Liv uses her Instagram account to raise awareness and educate others about her life as a swinger, offering advice on everything from telling your partner to dealing with jealously and rejection.

Liv told The Sun how “shocked” she and Gage were when they first became swingers “at how many people out there are meeting up with other couples.”

The couple’s first swinging experience, happened six weeks after they joined the lifestyle, and there were “no expectations”.

“We were just going to head over for a drink and see how we felt about it. But we went all the way.”

Gage added: “You meet one person, you marry them, and that’s the only person you have sex with, so when you go outside of that social norm, it’s treading new waters and you don’t really know what to expect.

“But the couple that we met were so welcoming and helped us ease into it.”
