‘Not everybody has to love their virginity as a teenager’

Rebel Wilson has confessed that she didn’t lose her virginity until she was in her 30s.

The 44-year-old comedian of sorts revealed that she was a virgin until she was 35 and she made the confession to share a ‘positive message’.

The admission was made in her upcoming memoir Rebel Rising which has made a whole world of headlines already as in the book there are excerpts about her grievances with Sacha Baron Cohen.

Rebel Wilson says people ‘shouldn’t feel under pressure’ to lose their virginity before their 30s.

According to Rebel, she had sexual intercourse for the first time when she was 35 but kept the whole thing private due to social pressure.

In an interview with People magazine, Rebel said: “Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager.

“People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature.

“And I think that could be a positive message. You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person.”

Rebel described herself as ‘late bloomer’ and said that she was previously embarrassed to admit that she lost her virginity later in life than most.

According to a recent YouGov poll, most British men lost their virginity at 18 while women lose it at 17.

Only five percent of people reported that they lost their virginity at the age of 25 or above.

Rebel added: “There was one vague time, I think I told my best friend, ‘Oh yeah, I just did it to just get it over with when I was like 23′”.

Wilson said: “Just to really avoid the questions. Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening. And then the people that said ‘Oh at 24, it’s so late’, and here I am thinking: ‘Oh my god, my numbers 35. What the hell? I’m going to look the biggest loser’.”
