The Road House star posted a baffling voice note on social media last night.
Conor McGregor has hinted at his next acting role by posting a bizarre message on X (Twitter) last night.
In a voice note captioned ‘Cocaine Bear 2: Who’s ready for it?’, McGregor can be heard saying: “Where the f**k is my cocaine you f***ing stupid bear?”.
It’s not the first time the UFC star has dabbled in Twitter’s voice notes function. The fact there is a page on the app now dedicated to McGregor’s online musings suggests that it has become a habit of sorts.
McGregor’s Cocaine Bear post was taken down shortly after it was posted yesterday evening, but as is always the case many had screen recorded it and have since reposted.
For those who have no idea what the Dublin-born fighter is referring to, Cocaine Bear is a movie that was released back in 2023.
It was an American comedy horror that was based on a real story about a bear who ingested several kilograms of a bag containing about 75 lb (34 kg) of lost cocaine and was named Pablo Eskobear.
The initial movie was deemed mediocre by the audience at best, with a 5.9 rating on IMDb and 66% on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, going off the five second audition that McGregor released last night, fans seem keen to see a sequel starring the Irishman.
One Twitter user wrote: “Plot Twist: Conor is playing the bear”.
Another said: “Connor should fight the bear”.
Just last week, McGregor announced during promo for Road House, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is available to watch on Prime Video, that he will return to the octagon this summer.
His rumoured opponent for the comeback bout is former Bellator star Michael Chandler. Some fans brought McGregor’s proposed opponent into the Cocaine Bear conversation.
One commented: “How can Chandler hear this and actually believe he’s ever gonna fight Conor?”
Other fans saw the funnier side of McGregor’s late-night recording.
In an interview with JOE at the Road House premiere in London, McGregor revealed that he thought acting was more difficult that fighting, and explained why.
He said: “Acting [is harder]. Time, time, time consumption, and it’s not just action and fighting and stunts, it’s also remembering the line and you have to time things correctly, you’re engaging with another person.
“It’s just a difficult game, a lot more difficult than I gave it credit for.”
The 35-year-old also revealed to JOE that he had once been offered a role in one of the most popular tv series’ in recent years.
“You know, I was supposed to be in Vikings, the Vikings had me teed up,” he said.
“I had a few things teed up but I just kept pushing it along down the line, but I just stayed in the fight business. I always said ‘I’m in the fight business, not the movie business.’
“Ultimately I ended up letting people down over that because I was teed up to do a full season, and it just never happened.”
It remains to be seen whether McGregor’s performance in Road House will lead to more acting work, but, if last night’s voicenote is anything to go by, comedy could be the next genre he tackles.
