12 people you really wish could narrate your life

Tell us we're wrong

Paul Moore

They could make you eargasm by just reading the phonebook.

While flicking through some late night TV, I landed upon an episode of The I.T Crowd, and aside from the brilliant writing and characters, one thing instantly jumped out – the incredible voice of Matt Berry/Douglas Reynholm.

With this in mind, we’ve decided to look at some people that truly have outstanding voices. Let us know if you’ve got any other names that you would like to include.

1. Will Arnett

Star of: Arrested Development, The Lego Movie, Blades of Glory, Hot Rod.

When you hear him, it’s almost like: You’re being chatted-up in some seedy bar, but rather than move away, you’re being drawn even closer.

2. Kelsey Grammer

Star of: Frasier, The Simpsons, Cheers.

When you hear him, it’s almost like: You know that the doctor is listening but all you want is to hear him sing the entire score of the H.M.S Pinafore. He could be the only person that can make the sound of being smacked in the face by a rake sound like it’s a wonderful experience.

3. Matt Berry

Star of: The I.T Crowd, Toast of London, The Mighty Boosh.

When you hear him, it’s almost like: You tune out every other person in the room because of the wonderful way that he enunciates every little detail.

5. Morgan Freeman

Star of: The Shawshank Redemption, Bruce Almighty, March of the Penguins

When you hear her, it’s almost like: Well, who else would you cast to play the voice of God? Freeman could narrate the phonebook and it would still sound compelling.

6. James Earl Jones

Star of: Coming to America, The Lion King, Star Wars.

When you hear him, it’s almost like: Intimidating royalty is just about to make you shiver in your shoes. This is what David Prowse’s original voice of Darth Vader sounded like before James Earl Jones has hired.

7. Sir David Attenborough

Star of: An endless list of incredible documentaries.

When you hear him, it’s almost like: An inexplicable sense of peace, calm and tranquility has entered your life.
