KFC have unveiled a pizza where the base is…wait for it…fried chicken

The food mashup we didn't know we needed.

Tom Victor

Have you ever eaten a pizza and thought to yourself ‘this base is great and all, but what if it was made out of chicken?’.

Probably not, because that’s not a normal thing for anyone to think.

However KFC have unveiled the food that no one asked for, but which a bunch of people will probably try – the Chizza.

And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

In KFC’s own words, it is:

‘100% chicken fillet, marinated, perfectly seasoned and cooked to a glorious gold, then layered with delicious pizza toppings such as pizza sauce, chicken ham, pineapple chunks, mozzarella and topped with signature KFC cheese sauce. All this goodness baked to perfection.’

And while the restaurant chain might not be known for its pizza, it is undoubtedly known for its chicken, hence rolling out what we look upon as the cultural successor to the ‘Double Down’ (that bacon and cheese sandwich that used chicken instead of bread).

Unfortunately, KFC has confirmed that there are no plans at present to bring the Chizza to the UK, but they don’t seem to be ruling out such a move further down the line.

Still, that’s not going to stop people trying to improvise until the real deal rolls around. We found out as much back in 2015, when the product was first trialled in Asia, and we’re willing to wager that nothing has changed.
