They compared the quality to The Ritz
A pub has hit back at angry customers who complained about being charged £25 for a Full English.
The restaurant which has two locations, one in Ospringe, near Faversham, and one in Birchington near Margate, both in Kent, recently received backlash online for its all-you-can-eat cooked breakfast, but has now spoken out to justify the cost.
The establishment known as The Cow Shed defended its breakfast which comes with unlimited servings of every item on a Full English, fresh pastries, cereals, hot drinks and juices.
However, despite the quantity of food and drink on offer, social media users were not convinced by the price, with many taking to the internet to voice their disapproval.
One person said: “Good grief! That’s madness!”
Another commenter wrote: “No breakfast is worth £25, even if it is unlimited. This is Faversham, not Mayfair.”
Meanwhile one user put: “Considering setting up a GoFundMe page in order that I can try this lavish breakfast at some point.”
However, this criticism did not go unnoticed by the owners of the pub who subsequently released an 800-word statement in defence of its pricing.
The pub said: “Yes, it’s definitely aimed for those who want to indulge, who are comfortable in spending the extra cash to immerse themselves in our quality ‘ALL YOU CAN EAT’ breakfast.
“It boasts The Cow Shed grill up (£13.50 normally – full English), with our own recipe sausages, fresh pastries, cereals, hot drinks and juices.”
They added: “One of the main reasons we made the decision as a family to start The Cow Shed was because our celebrations and commiserations tend to be based around food.
“When venturing out, rather than hosting at home, we often felt there was some sort of compromise. So hence The Cow Shed in its current guise was born.”
Breakfast at The Cow Shed is available on weekend mornings and they offer free dining for children under five as well as a 50% discount for kids under 12.
Just as many people have praised the restaurant.

Another reviewer said: “Amazing food and brilliant service. We have visited on a few occasions for lunch/ dinner and always loved it, but this was the first time for breakfast. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for…
“Quality ingredients and very generous portions, staff were very attentive without crowding so felt very comfortable. Will definitely visit again”.
The pub also boasts a 4.5 – star rating on google and TripAdvisor, a fact the owners highlighted.
They also compared their breakfast to the price of other high-end breakfast spots like The Ritz where a Full English will set you back £56.
They added: “Think about it, if you were to frequent any establishment that serves a certain level of quality, with that content having only one serving of each, you’d soon be breaking the £20 mark.”
