M&S are selling Percy Pig pancakes

JOE

Perfect with Percy Pig dessert sauce

If I had to pick one food or drink item to symbolise the UK, honestly, it wouldn’t be tea, or fish and chips, or yorkshire puddings. It would be Percy Pigs.

Everyone loves Percy Pigs, no matter who they are – unless you are Piers Morgan getting performatively angry about eating the vegetarian ones.

Anyway, Marks & Spencer have added a new addition to the Percy Pig family: pink pancakes.

Retailing for £1.65 for four, they are made with apple juice and raspberry flavoured jelly pieces.

The pancakes were spotted by the Instagram page Newfoodsuk.

“NEW PERCY PRODUCT ALERT. Percy Pig Pancakes! WOW! These are super delicious!” said the post.

“Buttermilk pancakes made with Percy Pig dessert sauce, with apple and raspberry jelly pieces – these have a beautiful fruity taste! We love the jelly pieces and sauce in these pancakes – perfect heated up!”

The post has nearly 8,000 likes.

Of course, the best thing to have with the pancakes would be the Percy Pigs dessert sauce, which was launched last year.

While non-essentially shops remain shut in England due to the lockdown, Marks & Spencer Food halls remain open.

“Across the UK, all of our food halls remain open for you and your community, including those in our larger stores,” says a statement on their website. “We have extensive hygiene and social distancing measures in place and have launched new services such as Sparks Book & Shop to help make shopping with M&S quicker, easier and safer for everyone.

“We’re all in this together and we all need to play our part in keeping everyone safe and well, so please show your support and care for each other and our hardworking colleagues by wearing a face covering and keeping a safe distance while in-store.”
