“Omg yessssss finally”
After an 11-year hiatus, white chocolate Maltesers are officially making a comeback next month.
Launched by Mars Wrigley Confectionary in 2003, which also produces Revels, the Bounty, Snickers, Milky Way, and Mars bars, these crunchy little globes of heaven quickly became a favourite among shoppers, but were taken off supermarket shelves in 2014.
Their glorious return is set for Monday, June 16, with sharing bag, single bag and treat bag variations on offer.
Clare Moulder, Maltesers senior brand manager at Mars Wrigley, said in a statement: “Consumers absolutely love Maltesers white chocolate and have been clamouring for us to bring it back. I’m happy to confirm that we are now finally going to do just that.
“White chocolate is a growing trend and as the number two favourite chocolate brand in the UK, we are perfectly placed to answer this demand. We also know that white chocolate versions of favourite brands appeal to the under 35 demographic, so this launch is set to bring existing as well as new consumers to confectionery aisles.”
Another spokesperson for the company added: “We’re delighted to bring Maltesers White Chocolate back for the passionate fans who have been anticipating their return for years! Maltesers is all about encouraging people to look on the light side of life and so definitely try them if you’ve not done so before.”

News of the sweet product’s revival was cause for celebration amongst chocolate lovers, who aired their excitement on social media.
“My uncle used to buy me these as he could only get them from shops near him. He passed in 2017 unexpectedly, these always make me think of him, so happy they’re back,” read one sentimental reaction.
“They were top tier”, “The best news this year!!!!” and “Omg yessssss finally. These were amazing why did they ever stop them?” wrote three more people.
