They say you can tell a lot about a group of people from their culinary preferences.
Friendships have been made and broken over
the correct way to cook a steak,
the level of spice on a Nando's order or even something as simple as
where you keep your ketchup.
But we can all agree on curry, right? Some things are so universal that there's not even a semblance of an argument.
Not so fast.
It turns out (well, according to a YouGov poll, at least), that the chicken korma is the country's favourite curry.

Now, sure, this might say more about the sort of people who are inclined to vote on YouGov polls, but at the same time it seems out-of-sync with the tendency towards spicier Nando's selections,
the rise of Sriracha and the adoption of Vindaloo as an ersatz national anthem around the time of the 1998 World Cup.
"Vindaloo, Vindaloo, and we all like Vindaloo," national treasure Keith Allen sings, in one of 27 (yes, we counted) mentions of the Indian dish in the four-minute song. Well, sorry Keith, but apparently we don't.
Of course, the Vindaloo Ultras were out in force at the news, which has divided the country almost as much as the Brexit vote. Indeed, as was the case back on June 23, many on the side of the majority have stayed silent rather than admit loudly to their choice, with the social media response looking something like this:
