Footage captures terrifying moment shark sends paddleboarder falling into water

An Australian adventurer has shared footage from his heart-stopping encounter with a tiger shark, all while he was in the middle of the ocean. Brodie Moss, who runs the YouTube channel YBS Youngbloods and boasts 4.1 million followers on TikTok, was paddleboarding earlier this week when he spotted a huge shark chowing down on a turtle. Before long, Moss becomes - what many would consider - too close to the predator. "Tiger shark and this turtle - big showdown, and I'm right in the thick of it," the West Australian during a video clip of himself watching the tense chase. "Oh this is intense, they're underneath me!" Moss adds. "I don't know if I'm in the best position right here." While the shark had largely ignored the wildlife enthusiast, the situation soon flipped as the animal raised its head out of the water. Cue Jaws music. The predator takes a considerable bite out of Moss' paddleboard, causing him to fall off and drop his GoPro which sinks to the seafloor. Luckily the water appears to be pretty shallow and Moss is able to pick it up a few moments later. "A humbling reminder for myself that it's their ocean and I'm just a visitor! I love sharks and this little accident was not the big fellas [sic] fault," Moss wrote in the caption, presumably not writing from within the animal's stomach. Moss also uploaded the clip to TikTok, where most users rightly pointed out just how casual Moss was.

"100% convinced that one day I'll see on the news a tiger shark or a snake got him," wrote one user. While most admit how terrified they'd be, that's kind of Moss' point. According to the Florida Museum, there is about a one in 3,748,067 chance of you actually getting killed by a shark - so while they may have hundreds of teeth, you just ain't their type.
