Now the 40-year-old stunt driver has confirmed he would be delighted to be part of either Chris Evans' Top Gear or the new Amazon show fronted by Jeremy Clarkson , James May and Richard Hammond.
"I would love to [be part of either show] but I've not heard anything. I'll wait and see," explained Collins. "Who knows what the future will hold but I'll be in and out of a car doing what I love doing most."
Andy Wilman, Executive Producer of Clarkson's new vehicle (pun intended), confirmed that the new show would include some kind of Stig-alike: "The three lads can drive properly and fast and will do so. But we do need a new character."
A Top Gear insider also confirmed to the Mirror: "The Stig will feature in some way. He’s popular and has his own fan base."
