“Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. We’re all going to die. Come watch TV.”

It’s a big day for fans of foul-mouthed cartoons, as new episodes of both Rick & Morty and Big Mouth hit Netflix UK on Friday.

The fourth season of Big Mouth has just been added to the streaming service. The Netflix original animation has become a cult hit since it launched in 2020.

One notable chain for the fourth season will be Jenny Slate leaving the show as the voice of Missy. In June, it was announced that she was being recast in favour of an African-American actress, with Ayo Edebiri taking her place. Edebiri’s first appearance will come midway through season four, as Slate had already recorded some of her lines in advance.

The second half of season four of Rick & Morty is also now on Netflix UK. Those episodes did previously air on E4 in the UK in Britain but are now all available to stream in one place, along with the previous three seasons.

Amongst the new instalments uploaded is the infamous ‘The Vat of Acid Episode’, which won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program this year. Despite the title, the episode is actually about Rick creating a ‘save point’ device which goes into very dark territory.

Another notable episode in the back-half of season four is ‘Never Ricking Morty’, which is maybe the most meta episode in the show’s entire history. It was controversial amongst the show’s devoted fanbase after trailers for the episode seemed to promise a resolution to some of Rick & Morty‘s biggest mysteries, when in actuality… well, let’s not spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
