The author's latest marks a big change from his previous Netflix shows.

Netflix has just added I Will Find You, its latest limited mystery thriller series based on the work of acclaimed author Harlan Coben (Fool Me Once, The Stranger).

Adapted from his 2023 novel of the same name, the show follows David Burroughs (Sam Worthington, Avatar), a man wrongfully serving a life sentence for the murder of his son.

When he receives word from an old reporter friend (Britt Lower, Severance) that his son may actually be alive, David embarks on a truth-finding mission, breaking out of prison and "into a world of deceit and despair".

Watch the trailer for I Will Find You right here:

Alongside Lower and Worthington, the cast of the series includes Chi McBride (Narc), Clancy Brown (Highlander), Erin Richards (Gotham), Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), Logan Browning (The Perfection), Madeleine Stowe (The Last of the Mohicans) and Milo Ventimiglia (This is Us).

Coben co-created the show, alongside Robert Hull (Gotham), with the latter serving as the showrunner.

I Will Find You is noteworthy as the first of Coben’s Netflix projects to be set in the United States. The others have taken place across the world, including the UK, Argentina, France, Poland and Spain.

Reviews are still trickling in for the series, which was only realised today (Thursday, 18 June). The early consensus seems to be that this is another bingeable, twisty, if far-fetched Coben show, but with bigger-name stars and higher production value.

You can read some early positive write-ups for I Will Find You below:

Digital Mafia Talkies: "Another decent Harlan Coben adaptation on Netflix? In this economy? I think that's something worth celebrating."

The Guardian: "The script is made of Play-Doh, and our protagonists are but flaps of luncheon meat pegged to a washing line. And yet still we must – must! – find out what happens. And so we stagger, dazed, into the next episode. And the episode after that."

Radio Times: "I Will Find You takes place in the US, the spiritual home of plotty pulp, and it knows damn well that it’s a straightforward conspiracy thriller... Can [David] find the truth before you notice how silly the story is and stop watching? I Will Find You moves fast enough for that moment never to come."

Variety: "A highly bingeable show, bursting with ludicrous yet eye-opening moments, it reminds viewers once again why they can’t stop watching shows with Coben’s stamp."

Coben's first US Netflix series comes hot on the heels of his thriller show Run Away, which landed on the streaming service in January.

His previous Netflix thrillers include Fool Me Once, Missing You, Safe, Stay Close, and The Stranger.

On top of this, a new adaptation of his 2007 book The Woods for the streamer is in the works. It was also announced earlier this year that his long-running collection of novels about sports agent Myron Bolitar will be brought to the screen as well via Netflix.

I Will Find You is streaming on Netflix right now.
