Emma Willis’ growing TV workload divides viewers

Emma Willis may have added another controversy to the Strictly Come Dancing conversation, as some viewers have begun questioning whether the presenter is appearing on too many shows.

The criticism has surfaced online following her move to the BBC dance competition last year.

Willis joined Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped away from the presenting line-up, but not everyone is convinced she should remain on the Sunday results programme.

According to Mirror TV, the main complaint is that Willis has become too familiar a face on prime-time television.

Alongside Strictly, she also presents The Voice, and some viewers believe the double workload is becoming excessive.

One Reddit user raised the issue in a discussion about her growing television presence, writing that she was “becoming over-saturated”.

“Emma is fronting Strictly and The Voice. Two prime time TV shows. I tuned into a show last night. Was celebs cooking, hosted with Emma and Tom Allen. She's obviously very good at her job. But aren't their any other presenters?"

Other users reportedly joined the debate, with comparisons drawn to television personalities such as Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond, who have also hosted multiple programmes.

The discussion has even prompted fans to revisit the history of Strictly’s Sunday results show.

Bruce Forsyth gave up that role in 2010 but continued presenting the Saturday competition for another four years, before retiring from the programme in 2014. He died in 2017 at the age of 89.

For now, there is no indication that Willis is being removed from the line-up. She continues to present the show with Widdicombe and Radebe, despite the growing online debate about her television workload.
