Stephen Graham's Netflix thriller Bodies drops today with rave reviews

Weekend viewing sorted!

Stephen Graham’s latest series is now streaming on Netflix and has been met with rave reviews.

Bodies arrived on the platform today (October 19) and is a murder mystery set over four different eras, spanning 163 years.

The synopsis for the series – which is based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer – reads: “Four detectives, living in four different eras, find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel. They soon come to realise their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over 150 years.”

The body is discovered in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053 and one detective from each period must investigate.

As connections are drawn across the decades, the detectives soon discover their investigations are linked, and an enigmatic political leader Elias Mannix (Graham), becomes increasingly central.

In the days before its release, the show was met with a number of positive reviews.

In a four-star review, the Radio Times said the series was “impossible to define” but that this was what made it so good and a “much-needed breath of fresh air.”

Meanwhile, in their own four-star review, the Guardian said: “Ambitious, tense, explosive: this genre-blurring whodunnit travels time to visit four detectives investigating the same murder – in different eras. It’s exceptionally good value.”

Answering the question “Is Bodies worth watching?” Cosmopolitan emphatically said: “Yes, yes, yes! Bodies is seriously binge-worthy TV. It’ll leave your mind blown and you screaming at the screen with all its twists and turns. Make sure to have your snacks ready as you’re not going to want to take your eyes off the telly.”

So, it sounds like the perfect series has arrived ahead of the weekend for us!
