Legendary Hip Hop group Beastie Boys to release new book

The Beastie Boys are unique

So unique in fact that they're releasing a book that is more a panoramic experience than a bog standard coffee table read.

Simply titled BEASTIE BOYS BOOK, it tells the story of the iconic Hip Hop trio, who when they formed in 1981 started out as a New York City hardcore band, by members ADROCK and Mike D, with contributions from Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Luc Sante and more.

With a style as distinctive and eclectic as one of their albums, BEASTIE BOYS BOOK flips the typical music memoir on its head. Accompanying the band narrative are rare photos, original illustrations, a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys' New York, mixtape playlists, pieces by guest contributors, and many other surprises.

Due out November 1st 2018, Adam "ADROCK" Horovitz and Michael "Mike D" Diamond offer revealing and very funny accounts of theirs and late member's Adam “MCA” Yauch's transition from teenage punks to budding rappers; their early collaboration with Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin; the debut album that became the first Hip Hop record ever to hit #1 on Billboard, Licensed to Ill - and the album's messy fallout as the band broke with Def Jam, their move to Los Angeles, and rebirth with the genre-defying masterpiece Paul's Boutique.

Published through Faber & Faber, BEASTIE BOYS BOOK by Michael Diamond and Adam Horowitz arrives November 1st 2018.
