Simply titled BEASTIE BOYS BOOK, it tells the story of the iconic Hip Hop trio, who when they formed in 1981 started out as a New York City hardcore band, by members ADROCK and Mike D, with contributions from Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Luc Sante and more.
With a style as distinctive and eclectic as one of their albums, BEASTIE BOYS BOOK flips the typical music memoir on its head. Accompanying the band narrative are rare photos, original illustrations, a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys' New York, mixtape playlists, pieces by guest contributors, and many other surprises.
