Spotlight caused a major upset by beat The Revenant to the Best Picture prize.

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu may have claimed his second consecutive Best Director Oscar for The Revenant, but it was Spotlight that took home the Best Picture prize at the ceremony in California.
