GBBO’s Prue Leith told she cannot take part in another show

Too risky

Laura Holland

You wouldn’t see Mary Berry causing this fuss.

Prue Leith, who is the new judge on The Great British Bake Off, has been banned from taking part in a different show. The star wanted to compete in the new series of Dancing on Ice but the idea has been vetoed by her team.

And rightly so, she is 77.

In spite of her age, she was very interested in taking part, even going so far as discussing it with the show’s producers. Her main reasons for wanting to take part were for weight loss and to learn something new.

But, her team had to break the news that she was too old and that it was too risky.

According to Metro, she said:

“I thought it’d be the perfect way to get fit, lose a lot of weight and learn a new skill. I was actually quite excited, but my team said, ‘Absolutely not’.

“They told me I was far too old and if I fell over I would break something – and then I thought they were probably right.”

Prue has yet to sign a contract for a second series of The Great British Bake Off. So far, she’s been a hit with most viewers so it’s expected that she will be back.
