At least they can laugh about it

Game of Thrones' showrunners have responded to eagle-eyed viewers that called out a glaring continuity error in the latest episode, 'The Last of the Starks.' What looks a lot like a Starbucks, but is definitely some kind of coffee, cup appears in one scene and unless we've missed the lore/Reddit fan theories, there has been no mention of a drive-thru or petrol station self-serve machine to this point in the show. Understandably, fans became irate. https://twitter.com/NehalMahran/status/1125280642038677504 https://twitter.com/MatthewACherry/status/1125292053678571520 How can it take two years of production to make six episodes that then contain rogue rubbish, I hope it was recycled, and are at times too dark to watch? A valid question. The show's official Twitter account appeared to confirm the coffee cup did indeed appear "by mistake," tweeting: https://twitter.com/GameOfThrones/status/1125502368056053762 Capitalising on all the free advertising, Starbucks also had their say on the matter. https://twitter.com/Starbucks/status/1125450083107872772 "TBH we're surprised she didn't order a Dragon Drink," the coffee chain said. How do you do. Executive producer Bernie Caulfield told WNYC: "We’re sorry!" and joked "Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks." "If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape." Caulfield also said he expected HBO to edit out the cup soon. Drink it in while you still can.
