Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid fans will be blown away by this new game trailer

This is pretty much the most anticipated game of 2018.

The first few Silent Hill games are considered to be some of the best horror experiences to ever be created. So, when it was announced that Hideo Kojima - the creative genius behind the Metal Gear series - was planning on making Silent Hills for the PS4, game fans everywhere got very excited. Kojima was teaming up with cinematic horror mastermind Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone, The Shape of Water), while actors Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Mads Mikklesen (Casino Royale) would be featuring as the protagonist and antagonist, respectively. Then, all of a sudden, it was inexplicably dropped. A playable demo was released, titled P.T., but then pulled down from offline. You can still find copies of it around the web, or just watch this video of someone else playing it. Kojima powered on with his cast (which also seems to now feature Guillermo Del Toro, despite him no longer being involved in the creative aspect of the game) and over the past few months we've been given glimpses of the game built from the ashes of Silent Hills, namely Death Stranding. And this week, at the 2017 Game Awards ceremony, the new full-length trailer was debuted, and it is nothing short of breath-taking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIgYnFMZiF8 Clip via GameTrailers According to IGN, who asked Kojima to explain the plot and lore of Death Stranding, this is what you can expect:

"When the main character Sam dies, the player is sent to another world, referred to as an upside-down world submerged in water. Kojima suggests that when the player returns to the world of the living, anything they did or any damage that an explosion or the likes causes when the player dies remains persistent in the world and does not go away. Another element talked about is the existence of "Timefall" a type of rain with the ability to age or deteriorate whatever it hits. Another gameplay element talked about is the players ability to interact with the environment and wander outside of the character's body, as well as recovering items when they die."

With the game first announced in 2016, and this new mega-length trailer, our educated guess puts the release of the game around Christmas 2018. Provided it doesn't get cancelled again.
