Cristiano Ronaldo set to profit massively despite being dropped by Martin Scorsese

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Hollywood debut will have to wait after the Real Madrid star was dropped from Martin Scorsese’s upcoming release The Manipulator.

Alessandro Proto, the man who the film is based on, reportedly asked the legendary director to remove Ronaldo from the project

But the Real Madrid star will reportedly still receive a huge payday by not appearing in the film.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ronaldo will bank a cool €20m (£14.6m) for giving up his penthouse apartment in New York for the movie, despite not appearing in it at all.

Proto admitted that he does not want the superstar footballer in the movie, but he would happily deliver the cash in person if that’s what it takes to keep him out of the film.

“Ronaldo is a great player, but that doesn’t mean he is the king of the world,” Proto said.

“I don’t want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorsese is in agreement with me. Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film.”

“I am sorry if he doesn’t feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some. If I really have to give him 20 million euros, I will give it to him with my own hands.”

There are rumours circulating that Scorsese dropped Ronaldo in pursuit of an Oscar, which Chelsea fans will be disappointed to hear means he’s after the golden statue, not the Brazilian midfielder.
