Two heartbreaking Coronation Street episodes aired on Monday night as Aidan Connor’s final scenes aired with many people commending the soap for tackling such an important subject and dealing with it in such an sensitive manner.
However, some viewers believe there’s another storyline to come from this involving Aidan’s father Johnny.
A picture shared by the soap’s official Instagram account features Johnny having a heart to heart with Liz McDonald after finding out about his son’s tragic death and some fans have speculated that there could be a romance brewing between the pair.

One fan commented: “When are these 2 going to get together” while another said “Johnny and Liz should be together” and a further comment read “poor Johnny is going to turn to Liz for support. It’s going to be a tough week for viewers”.
Although Johnny is married to Jenny, it’s been suggested that he will find comfort with Liz who offers him her sofa to sleep on when he storms out of his home.
Although he returns home the next day, it’s not yet clear if he tells Jenny the truth with these scenes unfolding over the coming days.
