Lee Ryan was held overnight after being arrested for public order offences
Blue singer Lee Ryan was reportedly arrested after becoming abusive to airline staff who refused to serve him a drink.
Passengers on a British Airways flight from Glasgow to London City told The Sun that Ryan became disruptive during the flight, delaying it by 20 minutes, and was arrested after landing.
One passenger told the publisher: “Never mind singing with Blue, he turned the air blue with his language.
“He became aggressive with the air hostesses once it became clear he wouldn’t get given alcohol. At one point he left his seat and started walking up and down the aisle despite being told to sit down — he even ran behind the cabin crew curtains.
“It was crazy behaviour.”
Another passengers told the publication that 39-year-old Ryan was acting "really intimidating" during the incident on Sunday.
Ryan was arrested on suspicion of public order offences.
Met Police confirmed it attended London City Airport at 4.40pm on Sunday and arrested a 39-year-old man who was taken into "custody at an east London police station and was released under investigation the following day”.
Ryan formed the boy band in 2000 with Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe and released three studio albums before the group announced a hiatus in late 2004.
The group reformed and represented the UK at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, placing 11th, and in March 2013 announced they would embark on their first tour later than year.
Sony dropped the band in April 2015 after poor sales of their fifth album Colours, which sold just 4,000 copies in its first week.
