And they came out the same year
Ashton Kutcher has admitted he and Natalie Portman were in “basically the same movie” as his wife Mila Kunis was in with Justin Timberlake.
Kutcher and Portman starred in No Strings Attached in 2011. The classic, rom-com plot saw their characters try to keep their relationship as friends with benefits, but – in a shocking twist – “it’s not long before they learn that they want something more.”
In the very same year, Kunis and Timberlake starred in a film called – you guessed it – Friends With Benefits. Again, the storyline follows a young man and woman who try to take their friendship to new heights without becoming a couple, “but soon discover that adding sex only leads to complications.”
Essentially the same movie… right?
Well, Kutcher, now 44, certainly thinks so. He said as much when he recently reunited with 41-year-old Portman on an episode of his show, Our Future Selves.
The pair discussed how they first started hanging out while filming No Strings Attached.
Working out alongside each other, Portman said: “Who would’ve thought 20 years later, we’d be on a Peloton together?”
Kutcher, who married now-39-year-old Kunis in 2015, responded: “Wait, it’s also weird because my wife was shooting basically the same movie, called Friends With Benefits.”

Portman then reminded Kutcher how she had just finished filming Black Swan with Kunis, at the time, which sees the actors in yet another sexual drama.

Timberlake and Portman, both 41, are yet to have their own rom-com moment together. But when they do, at least we all know exactly what to expect.
