George R.R. Martin has revealed that a Game of Thrones feature film is in the pipeline.

The man who writes the A Song of Ice and Fire series - the books on which Game of Thrones is based - made the revelation at the Emmy Awards after-party. However, he says he has too much on his plate to get involved himself. "I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do," he said. gotcast The sixth series of Game of Thrones is currently filming and Martin is under increasing pressure to bring the books up to date with show. Season Five saw the story largely move on from the novels that have already been published, so it remains to be seen how far Martin's progression of the narrative will differ from the massively popular TV drama.
