It seems like Barcelona are more keen to get rid of Suarez than he is keen to leave the club, hence this message of defiance. But it also seems more likely that Suarez leaves than stays this summer, with numerous clubs interested in taking him on for his last few years at the top level.
Suarez's former club Ajax are one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in signing him, with a fee of around £13.5m mentioned in some reports. Even given his age, if you can knock his wages down a bit, that's a steal.
Koeman even said on Dutch radio that he would happily sell Suarez to Ajax if it pleased the DJ, who was pleading with the Barça boss to let Suarez return to his old stomping ground.
