No, not Liverpool, obviously

Ajax are reportedly keen to bring Luis Suarez back in this transfer window as big changes are expected at Barcelona, according to reports.

Suarez made a name for himself at Ajax before he moved to Liverpool, and director of football Marc Overmars is said to be a huge admirer of the striker and would love to see him return to the Johan Cruyff arena before next season.

Suarez’s current contract at Barcelona expires next summer, so Barcelona could be forced to sell in the coming weeks to avoid losing him for nothing next year, if the player is determined to leave.

Suarez, like Messi, is 33 years old now and it is feasible that both veterans leave the Camp Nou in this window following their 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich, which as prompted crisis talks at the club.

A rebuild is needed in Cataluña and the money brought in from selling one or both of them would go some way to funding it.

If Suarez returns to Ajax, he will be following in the footsteps of many legends of the club to return as veterans after flourishing elsewhere,
