Ivan Toney is set to earn a staggering amount in Saudi Arabia following his deadline day move from Brentford.
The England striker signed for Al-Ahli last week in a dramatic finale to the transfer window.
Reported to be previously on less than £50,000 a week at the Bees as per the Telegraph, Toney's new contract has landed him a hugely improved sum.
It has been reported that the new deal could land him £1million a week after bonuses are calculated.
Toney’s four-year deal will secure him a basic pay of around £400,000 per week following tax.
It is also understood that add-ons and bonuses related to performance would take his salary to towards £500,000 across his contract.
To earn the same amount of take-home pay in the UK after tax he would have to be earning wages close to £1 million per week.
As a result, Toney will become one of the best paid English players in the game.
It has also been reported that players and managers have to stay in Saudi Arabia for a complete full tax year in order to receive tax-free earnings in the Middle East. Returning thereby before could risk HMRC claiming 45 per cent on earnings.
