Arsenal fans are debating whether this ‘secret recording’ of a Bellerín conversation is real

Kyle Picknell

In it he says he wants to “take on a new challenge”.

An audio clip that is believed to be of Héctor Bellerín discussing his attempts to leave Arsenal has been released on Twitter.

The man, who does sound like Bellerín, claims that he pivoted for a move last season when Barcelona were interested in signing him before apparently being assured by Arsene Wenger that “things are going to change” and “things are going to be much better”.

He explains that Arsenal spurned the interest by saying that they simply didn’t need the money, that there were “no other right-backs” and that they wouldn’t be able to replace him properly for the fee that they’d receive.

However, he goes on to detail how he is now planning to turn the unfulfilled promises against the Arsenal manager to force through a move to his boyhood club in the summer.

He explains that he now believes he has “the strength to fight them” on the move, and will insist that he needs “to take on a fresh challenge” in a bid to secure his return to the Spanish giants.

In fairness, the authenticity of the recording is fairly suspect, as it sounds as though it was recorded from someone’s pocket during a car ride and, suspiciously, comes just days after full-back appeared at the Oxford Union and proceeded to burn Arsenal Fan TV to the ground.

I’m not saying there’s some kind of ridiculous Arsenal Fan TV conspiracy attempting to tarnish Hector’s reputation, which will be quite difficult considering all the great charity work he does, but I’m also definitely not not saying that.

Arsenal supporters, as ever, remain divided.
