Keir Starmer has announced plans to "mainline AI in the Veins" of the UK public.
It comes as part of a new government initiative to try and make the UK a world leader in the industry and use the technology to improve life in the nation.
One of the suggested implications has been in sniffing out the countless number of potholes across the country.
The new government plan is being announced today (13 January) today by Keir Starmer and is set to promise investment, jobs and economic growth due to a boom in the sector.
The Labour government has faced criticism for how it has handled the economy so far, however, with this new AI plan, it claims £47bn could be injected into the UK each year thanks to AI.
On top of this, £14bn is set to be invested by the private sector, potentially creating around 13,000 jobs.
Keir Starmer said: "Artificial Intelligence will drive incredible change in our country. From teachers personalising lessons, to supporting small businesses with their record-keeping, to speeding up planning applications, it has the potential to transform the lives of working people.
"But the AI industry needs a government that is on their side, one that won't sit back and let opportunities slip through its fingers. And in a world of fierce competition, we cannot stand by. We must move fast and take action to win the global race."
The government announcement said: "Today's plan mainlines AI into the veins of this enterprising nation."
