We don’t know if this is how German police busted €15m-worth of cocaine hidden in Colombian bananas, but we’d like to think so.
Police discovered that the delicious yellow fruit destined for Aldi stores across Germany were packed full of the Class-A drug.
Around 300kg of cocaine, which had the street value of an estimated £11m, was packed amongst banana boxes and delivered to stores in Berlin, according to reports.
Staff must have got a surprise when they unpacked that lot.
It’s the second time that Aldi has unwittingly taken delivery of Colombian coke in 18 months.
Police are now a-peel-ing for witnesses. Okay, we’ll get our coats…
