Spotify Premium users can get a free Google Nest speaker – here’s how

Do you have Spotify Premium? Then boy have we got some good news for you

Spotify and Google have teamed up to give Spotify Premium users – the people who pay £9.99 a month to not have their tunes interrupted by ads – a free Google Nest smart speaker.

All you have to do is head to Spotify’s website, make sure you’re logged in, and you’re on your way to getting a free Google Nest. As you can imagine, demand is high, so you’ll be added to a waiting list – you’ll get an email when it’s ready for you.

“But I don’t have Spotify Premium, and I’d love a free Google Nest,” you say? Then we’ve also got good news for you: if you sign up to Spotify Premium now, you’ll be eligible for a free Google Nest as well. And you’ll have uninterrupted music to enjoy.

If you don’t fancy signing up for Spotify Premium, Google Nests are on discount in the Google Store at the moment – £29 down from £49.

What is a Google Nest smart speaker, you ask? It’s basically a super sophisticated Alexa, and can be used in tandem with other devices in your home.

It allows you to play music from Google Play Music, obviously, as well as other services including Spotify, obviously, as well as YouTube Music, Deezer and Pandora. You will require a subscription to one of these services to play a song on your Google Nest, but if you’re reading this, you’re almost certainly a Spotify premium subscriber, so no issues there.

Its design is also very slick. With a mesh top and the buttons hidden at the back, it looks like a tiny pillow that will blend into your living room or kitchen seamlessly.
