Second British summer heatwave could top all-time 101F record

Summer. Is. Coming...

Ben Kenyon

If you’re a fan of scorching weather, sweating like a pig, aggressive sun burn and people moaning about the intolerable heat,  then you’ll love this news.

There’s a second summer heatwave heading for Britain…and it looks like it could be a real ice cream-melter.

In fact, experts are tentatively suggesting it could be the hottest thing that’s ever happened to Britain since writing down how hot it is became a thing.

Hot air pushing up from the Africa and Southern Europe could send the mercury soaring up to more than 38.5C (101F).

Weather guys have never been wrong, so we’re looking forward to this second spell of scorching weather which looks set to hit between the end of July and beginning of August.

Just follow JOE’s hot weather advice to stay safe in the sun:
  • Always ensure your fridge is fully stocked with cold beer and refreshments
  • Never leave dogs, girlfriends, children or ice cream unattended in your car
  • Remove vests and t-shirts to avoid awful British tan and nominate a trusted sunscreen buddy well in advance
  • If you insist on wearing anything more than Speedos and flip-flops, make sure it’s white to reflect the sun.
  • Never wear socks and sandals if you’re trying to stay cool during a heatwave
  • Ensure you have a contingency plan to evacuate the office to your local beer garden or park
  • Avoid barbecuing naked
