Sofiia made a last-ditch effort to save the relationship on Friday night

A refugee who had an affair with a Brit dad-of-two who ditched his family to be with her is now set to return home to Ukraine after he dumped her.

Tony Garnett broke up with 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym last weekend after a headline-grabbing relationship that lasted just a few months. The 30-year-old left his partner of ten years, Lorna Garnett, 28, just 10 days after Sofia moved into their Bradford, West Yorkshire, home having fled Ukraine after Russia invaded in February

Sofia has now said she is packing her bags to return to her war-torn homeland, after Tony rejected her final pleas to get back together on Friday night.

During a phone call, Tony reportedly told Sofiia there was “absolutely no chance” they would ever be a couple again.

The couple are said to have broken up after Tony’s 30th birthday party went bad, resulting in him having to call the police. Sofiia is alleged to have stabbed a knife into a wall several times.

Sofiia, according to The Sun, has been arrested twice and warned not to contact Tony, but he agreed to speak to her one last time to close the book on a romance that hasn’t left the headlines.

Despite Tony’s rejection, Sofiia says she isn’t giving up on the relationship.

She told Mail Online: “It is a very difficult time for me as I love him very much. I can’t let go so easily and I am lost here without any friends or family.

“I have told him that I will never drink again and that we could live happily together if he just gives me one more chance.

“But he is refusing and I don’t know what to do next.”

Sofiia said she might go home because “I can’t live like this much longer” and her family wants her to return.

Tony has said: “I’m not heartless. I do feel sorry for her. But relationships do come to an end and this one is over.”

Sofiia had previously revealed she had fled the Ukraine war having been in a violent relationship, where her jaw was broken by an ex.

Her visa, which granted emergency refugee status for six months, expires in a few weeks.
