US fighter jets have crashed in Kuwait on Monday, as per reports from CNN based on analysis of online videos and the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait.
According to the gulf country, all of the crew members have survived following crashes of “several” US fighter jets.
In a statement, the ministry did not specify what caused the crashes or exactly how many jets crashed.
In videos released by CNN, a F-15E fighter jet is seen crashing in Kuwait while a pilot is seen parachuting to the ground.
While Kuwait’s defence ministry spokesperson, Col. Said Al-Atwan, said that “relevant authorities immediately initiated search-and-rescue operations”.
“The crews were evacuating from the crash sites and transferred to hospital to assess their condition and provided necessary medical care,” he said, adding that the crew members are in a “stable” condition.
The ministry spokesperson said that Kuwait was in “direct coordination” with US authorities.
The US fighter jet crashes come during heavy bombardment on Gulf nations as part of an expanding war with Iran.
