Real reason behind Prince Louis’ mischief at Jubilee has been revealed – and it all makes sense

The little prince stole the show

Prince Louis really got people talking during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last weekend with his energetic antics and fantastic face pulling – and now we might now what was behind his much-loved mischief making.

Viewers and those on social media were left in stitches when the youngest of the Duke and Duchesses’s kids was photographed pulling faces and putting his hands over his ears during the flypast on the first day of the Jubilee celebrations.

Then, a day later, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s four-year-old sibling once again had people talking by putting his hands over his mum Kate Middleton’s mouth while she was trying to speak to him during the Jubilee Pageant.

Now, we’ve discovered the culprit – and it makes so much sense.

Speaking on his podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, rugby player and husband to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara, Mike Tindall, revealed that there were “lots of sweets around” during the weekend which may have been to blame.

“Louis was just wanting to have fun, and my two are always mischievous, so it was (about) trying to keep a lid on,” he said.

“There were a lot of sweets out back there, so they had complete sugar highs. It’s tough for them, they’re all young sitting there from two to five or whatever, it’s a long time, (and) as any parent knows you just do what needs to be done.”

The sports star, 43, continued to discuss other elements of the weekend’s celebrations which were held to mark the Queen’s 70th year on the throne. One moment that struck a chord with fans was the Monarch’s meeting with another beloved icon – Paddington Bear.

During a short sketch that showcased the Queen’s playful sense of humour, Elizabeth II can be seen having tea with the little bear before sharing a marmalade sandwich which she revealed from inside her handbag.

During his latest podcast chat, Tindall suggested that her appearance in the short film meant that Her Royal Highness was “officially now a qualified actor.”

He added: “She was bang on. I’ve always said she was funny but she nailed it.”
