Duke of Edinburgh involved in car crash

The accident happened close to the Sandringham estate

Buckingham Palace said Prince Philip was not injured in the collision

The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a car crash near Sandringham Estate on Thursday afternoon.

97-year-old Prince Philip was not injured, Buckingham Palace said. While reports claimed the Duke’s Range Rover had flipped on its side after the collision, it is also said he was able to walk away unscathed.

Norfolk police attended the scene, which involved two vehicles, and have since said that two people in the other car suffered minor injuries.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: “The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon.

“The Duke was not injured. The accident took place close to the Sandringham Estate. Local police attended the scene.”
