UFC boss Dana White has revealed that Mark Zuckerberg texted him immediately after Elon Musk challenged him to a fight.

White has said he has been in constant contact with the pair ever since they began a war of words online in which they decided that the only way to settle their differences would be by having a cage fight.

Since then, a number of high-profile names and locations have become involved as they try to make what would no doubt be one of the most-viewed fights of all time become reality.

Musk, who purchased Twitter in October 2022, started the ball rolling when he responded to a tweet warning him that Zuckerberg knows jiu-jitsu, off the back of rumours the Meta boss was starting up a platform to rival his.

He wrote: “I’m up for a cage match if he is.” Zuckerberg hit back with, “Send Location”. The pair settled on Las Vegas.

Since then, Italy have also offered the colosseum in Rome as a possible venue.

With some people still doubting whether the pair are genuinely serious about taking each other on in the octagon, White revealed that the Meta boss Zuckerberg messaged him to see if Musk was as game for the fight as he was.

He said: “Both guys are absolutely dead serious about this. They both want to do it. Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, ‘Is he serious?’

“And I said, ‘I don’t know, let me ask him,’ and I asked him and he said, ”yeah, I’m dead serious’. It would break all pay-per-view records.

“These guys would raise, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars for charity and, you know, you don’t have to be a big fight fan to be interested in this fight.

“Everybody would want to see it.”
