A man has filled potholes on his local roads with pot noodles to highlight the poor state of UK roads.
Mark Morell, also known as Mr Pothole, boiled up the delicious snack using the holes in local roads to show how much he could fit in.
He teamed up with the noodle brand to urge the Government to fix Britain’s broken roads.
Jeremy Hunt, the chancellor, has said the Government’s potholes fund – which previously provided £500 million a year to councils – will be increased to £700 million in the 2023/24 financial year.
But people have expressed doubt over whether that is enough.
Morell has set about filling potholes with instant noodles to demonstrate how many potholes actually exist on UK roads.
He said: "Since nothing fills a hole like a Pot Noodle, who better to team up with to highlight the ridiculous state of the UK’s roads?"
His previous ideas of floating rubber ducks and feeding potholes cake on their birthday were unsuccessful, forcing him to think up new measures.
Mr Pothole was inspired to take action against the sheer number of holes after seeing his hometown, Brackley, so affected.
"Potholes drive road users potty and me more than most," he said.
"The pothole crisis across the UK is an increasingly serious issue and something I have been campaigning on for more than 10 years.
"During this period I have had to use my noodle with stunts to highlight just how bad potholes are, from floating plastic ducks in water filled potholes, birthday cakes, fishing rods and model submarines."
Experts say that ‘rapid freeze and thawing cycles’ have made the situation far worse than usual.
Around 60 per cent of drivers think the roads are worse than a year ago, according to the RAC, with road surface quality as the main issue.
