'Putin will not destroy us — and Tony Garnett will not destroy me'
The Ukrainian refugee whose UK sponsor ditched his long-term partner and children for her has spoken out for the first time since he dumped her.

broke up with 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym over the weekend after a headline-grabbing relationship that lasted just a few months. The 30-year-old left his partner of ten years, Lorna Garnett, 28, just 10 days after Sofia moved into their Bradford, West Yorkshire, home having fled Ukraine after Russia invaded in February.
Tony, 30, has since told how matters came to ahead when they celebrated his 30th birthday at their rented home in Bradford. Police were called after Tony alleged Sofiia damaged a wall with a knife.
According to the
MailOnline , Tony has accused his now ex-girlfriend of not being able to handle alcohol, using a knife to damage a wall and interfering with his relationship with his two daughters.
Sofia has now claimed Tony treated her like a "dogsbody" and gambled his money away online while relying on her benefits and has told how she is "heartbroken" after "believing Tony’s bulls**t".
She added: "Ukrainian women are strong. Vladimir Putin will not destroy us — and Tony Garnett will not destroy me."
Sofiia told
The Sun: "I really loved him and thought we’d spend the rest of our lives together and have children but he changed. I think the pressure got to him.
"It will be a long and hard journey for me now but I will rebuild my life and when I do I will be glad he is no longer a part of it."
Tony earlier told
MailOnline has he was "100% done" and her "irrational" behaviour.
He said: "I worked so hard to make this relationship work. I knew that we would look like tw*ts if we broke up because we have a media profile and all the attention that has been put on us on television and on the internet."
Lorna, the mother of Tony's two children, has told how she still loves him, and will co-parent the children with him, but won't take him back.
