Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood charged with sexual offences against two more women

It follows 15 charges brought against him in 2025

The Metropolitan Police confirmed in a press release this afternoon that Westood has been charged with sexual offences against two more women.

The force said the 68-year-old has been charged with indecently assaulting a teenage girl, aged 16 or 17, in 1991 and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old in May 2004.

In total, Westwood is now facing a total of 17 charges, involving nine women between 1983 and 2016.

These charges are in addition to 15 others brought against Westwood in October 2025 relating to seven women.

These include four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, all to which he pleaded not guilty.

Westwood will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on a date to be fixed in relation to the latest alleged offences.

A trial relating to the original 15 charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, 25 January 2027.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: “The women who have made reports have placed their trust in us, and we remain committed to providing them with all available support.
