‘LOL. One is amused.’

Now that both POTUS and FLOTUS, and even Pope Francis are reaching out to millions of people via various social media, it’s time that the Queen properly got on board with the Information Age and upped her Twitter game.

Her Majesty does currently have an online presence, but she’s never really threatened to break the internet in the same way as Kim Kardashian or Emily Ratajkowski have (probably a good thing). That could all change, as the Palace is looking for someone to manage Lizzy’s social media.

The Head of Digital Engagement will be charged with “developing our digital communications strategy and ensure that we make effective use of a range of digital platforms to support these aims”, and be based at Buckingham Palace.

“It’s about never standing still and finding new ways to maintain the Queen’s presence in the public eye and on the world stage,” states an ad for the £50,000-a-year role. “This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.”

The successful candidate will also head a newly-launched website and manage Her Majesty’s Snapchat account (…okay we made that last bit up).
