Elon Musk has said that nowadays he is scared to go out in public, after Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September.
And now it seems that he is ‘locked in’, literally.
On an episode of The Katie Miller Podcast, the billionaire who this year became the first person ever to have a net worth exceed $500 billion, says he feels it’s impossible to go anywhere due to security concerns.
He explained how Kirk’s killing has forced him to limit public his appearances.
“These days, particularly in light of Charlie Kirk's murder, there are serious security issues”, Musk said on the podcast.
“It’s not that I don’t want to,” he added. “I simply can’t.”
He added that “life is on hardcore mode”, and that “make one mistake and you’re dead.”
After Kirk’s death, Musk has been a staunch supporter of him. Just days after his assassination in September, he reposted a clip of him being interviewed and wrote “I know you are resting in peace, Charlie. Still can’t believe this happened. Your memory lives strong” over it.
The 54-year-old entrepreneur attended Charlie Kirk’s memorial in Arizona in September, in spite of his fears.
There, he met with President Donald Trump for the first time in months after their public falling out.
Charlie Kirk, conservative political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, died on September 10 after he was shot during an event at a Utah university.
