It is his first post since the involuntary manslaughter charge

Alec Baldwin has been widely criticised for a “creepy” Insragram post depicting his wife and son.

Last week, it was revealed that the actor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter over the Rust film set shooting of Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

He was holding and discharged the prop gun that killed the cinematographer, according to reports.

New Mexico District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said the decision was in keeping with “her commitment to pursue justice for all victims”.

“On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice”, she said.

The actor broke his silence this weekend with a bizarre picture posted on Instagram.

Under the picture of his son holding his mother’s shoulders as they sat on their living room floor, the Golden Globe winner sent trolls into a frenzy as he suggested his little boy was pulling ‘the old let me give you a back rub ploy’ on mom Hilaria Baldwin.

“Imagine being indicted for involuntary manslaughter and the first post you make after the announcement includes a picture of your attention-seeking wife, posed with your young son, and captioned with a sexually suggestive innuendo,” one person asked in the comment section.

Another wrote: “Does anyone else think this is creepy af with the caption? Pic is sweet. Caption makes it weird.”

A third commenter wrote: “Dude you need consult your team before you post man this does not help your case.”

One of Baldwin’s fans explained to the 30 Rock star that the “back rub ploy is a joke between grownups not mother/son.”

Others pleaded with the father-of-eight to stop being “problematic” and to stop posting at all.

The family of Halyna Hutchins have shared their relief after it was revealed Baldwin has been charged by the New Mexico District Attorney.

Their lawyer Brian J Panish read out a statement from the family which said: “It is a comfort to the family that, in New Mexico, no one is above the law.”

Panish added that Hutchins had been killed “with conscious disregard for human life” and stated that an “independent investigation also supports charges are warranted.”
